With recent hurricane activity impacting the Southeast, including Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas, now is the time for non-ferrous foundry owners and managers to review and update their workplace emergency planning programs. NFFS offers a comprehensive Workplace Emergency Planning program, developed under a Susan B. Harwood grant issued by OSHA in 2008. This program is designed to help foundries minimize the impact of emergencies by preparing their workforce, limiting injuries, reducing facility damage, and returning to full operation quickly after an incident. The training is available in both English and Spanish and can be accessed through the NFFS website.

From identifying potential hazards to creating tailored emergency plans, the NFFS program equips employers with the tools they need to ensure their foundries are ready for emergencies of all types, including fires, explosions, severe weather, or even workplace violence. Key topics covered include emergency equipment and communication strategies, evacuation plans, and compliance with OSHA regulations. Foundries that have not yet reviewed their emergency plans this year should take advantage of this resource to ensure they are fully prepared before disaster strikes.

This is the most effective Workplace Emergency Planning training available for foundry owners and managers. Make sure you are prepared BEFORE an emergency exists!  Visit  https://www.nffs.org/workplace-emergency-planning to learn more.
