The University of Northern Iowa (UNI) has announced the appointment of Drew James as Director of the Metal Casting & Foundry 4.0 Center, filling the role left by the recent retirement of former director Jerry Thiel.

Drew is a former Senior Materials Engineer for John Deer, and a former process metallurgist for Viking Pump. He holds a Bachelors degree in materials engineering and a Masters degree in industrial engineering.

In comments made about his appoint, Drew said, "The UNI Metal Casting & Foundry 4.0 Center has a great team already in place, and I am excited to continue the tradition of advancing the foundry industry."

NFFS would like to congratulate Mr. James on his recent appointment, and we work forward to working with him and his team as we pursue our common goal of advancing the manufacturing, recycling and use of non-ferrous metal castings.
