New technical resources content: Foundry Sand and Binders

Evaluating which foundry sand type and binder system to use in your foundry can be difficult. Sometimes there are potential process improvements and efficiencies available as a result of changing your molding medium. To provide guidance to our member foundries foundries as they consider their options, NFFS has published a web page within its Member Resources library dedicated to this topic.

The new online Sand and Binders page includes:

• a review of the sand and binder systems common in non-ferrous foundries,
• the considerations that foundries should take into account when choosing a sand or binder system, and
• the potential process efficiencies and benefits that can be achieved with a sand change.
